Heulwen is a grade II listed three storey regency town house that was badly in need of restoration before Rhys Llwyd Davies became involved. The building had been converted into an office and two self contained apartments in the 1970's at the expense of the building's character. Before the recent restoration work, the office had stood vacent for over 10 years and with no tenants in the apartments for a lengthly period, it suffered from dry rot, poor maintenance and lack of investment.
The two apartments have now been conbined to form one residential unit, restoring the character of the central staircase and the proportions of the main reception rooms on the first floor. Original coving and woodwork detailing have been restored internally and an underfloor heating system installed in conjunction with a new wood pellet boiler which also serves the ground floor office.
